Student Resources
Gateway Community & Technical College offers a variety of tuition assistance and other special resources designed to help you reach your educational goals. Many of these are funded by grants from the federal government or other organizations. Some programs offer tuition assistance while others connect you with opportunities for student employment, tutoring assistance, or special success services.
Start here with one of our career-focused programs, many of which qualify for the Work Ready Kentucky Scholarship, or follow one of our pathways and transfer to a four-year college.
Accessibility Services
Accessibility Services is here to help students with disabilities have equal access to all areas of a Gateway Community & Technical College education. Our services are based on individual needs.
Advising Services
Academic advising is an important part of Gateway's commitment to your academic success. As a student at Gateway you are assigned an academic advisor who help you plan your classes, make sure you're on track to graduate, give you career advice, and more.
Campus Safety
Help keep our campus safe by being aware of your surroundings and personal safety, and reporting suspicious situations to security officers or Information Commons staff.
Career Services
The Career Services Department offers help with resume building, interviewing skills, mock interviews, job search, career assessments, and more!
Counseling Services
The Counseling Department is here to provide support you if struggling with non-academic issues. Our role is to empower and assist you in overcoming life barriers, and to support you during your time at Gateway.
Childcare
Childcare has been identified as a significant need for Gateway students. Gateway offers a childcare program at the Edgewood Campus.
Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI)
DEI Center's goal is to educate, embrace, and encourage as we provide inclusive spaces for students, faculty, and staff.
eLearning
The Center for elearning at Gateway is in place to assist instructors and students with online learning. We are your go to place for most things Blackboard at Gateway. We help students with course issues.
Federal Work Study
The Federal Work Study program provides funding for part-time employment on and off campus to qualifying students.
Information Commons
If you don't know where to go, start here! The Gateway Information Commons is here to provide you with a single location at each campus where trained and considerate staff can work through any questions you may have.
Library Services
The library faculty and staff aim to take the worry and stress out of research assignments by working closely with faculty and students. Visit any Information Commons location for one-on-one research assistance. You can also contact us online, by phone, or email.
Peer Mentoring
Peer Mentors will have a wide variety of resources at their fingertips that they can share with their mentees. Examples of those resources include: how to apply for SNAP benefits, housing applications, scholarship information, and workshops.
Ready to Work
The Ready to Work program supports parents who are attending classes at Gateway or working on their GED. If determined eligible for the program, students have the opportunity to work on or off-campus at $12 per hour with no evenings or weekend shifts.
Student Involvement
In addition to quality education, Gateway offers a variety of cultural, social and learning opportunities. At Gateway, you'll find plenty of opportunities to get involved, get inspired and have fun outside of the classroom.

Gateway's Student Success Coaching Program was designed to help you be successful in college by providing individual support and helping you find and use resources you may need to reach your goals.
Title IX
Title IX is a federal civil rights law that prohibits discrimination on the basis of gender in educational programs and activities. Title IX prohibits discrimination based on pregnancy and parental status, sexual harassment, sexual violence, stalking, domestic violence, dating violence, and retaliation.
Transfer Services
Transfer Services can help you plan your next step after Gateway if it includes attending another school to complete a Bachelor's Degree or applying to a selective admission program.
Tutoring Services
Need some extra help in that math class that's got you thrown for a loop? Having trouble piecing that research paper together? Looking for a study group to practice those test taking skills? Come to the Center for Academic Success!
TRIO Project ASPIRE
You may qualify for TRIO - Project ASPIRE if you are a first-generation college student (neither parent earned a bachelor's degree), and/or meet federal income guidelines.
Veteran Services
Whether you're retired military, active duty, or a child or spouse of a military member, Gateway Veterans Affairs can provide a good starting point for all military related questions or concerns.
