Florence Ya'll Classic Tournament

Dear Colleagues,

The Gateway Community & Technical College Forensics Team cordially invite you to attend the annual Florence Y’all Classic Speech and Debate Tournament to be held March 1-2, 2019 at the Gateway campus in Florence, Kentucky.  For those of you unfamiliar with the area Florence, Kentucky is only a 20-minute interstate drive south from downtown Cincinnati, Ohio.

The tournament will feature competition NPDA debate (both novice and open if entries allow), the standard IE events plus radio broadcasting.  NPDA will have four preliminary rounds of debate with IE’s having two preliminary rounds.  A detailed schedule is included in the following pages.

The Florence Y’all Classic will allow students to enter a full slate of individual events in addition to parliamentary debate. Awards will be presented to all event finalists and the top debate speakers. The top five individuals in quadrathon and the top three teams in debate, individual events, and in combined competition will earn sweepstakes awards. We will also recognize the top novice in each event and the top community college in team sweepstakes.

You will find the rest of the details about the Tri-State Invitational included in the next few pages. Entries will be due by 5 p.m. on Tuesday, February 26, 2019.  Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have.

If you have any questions after you have read the invitation, feel free to call at (859) 442-1708 or email at john.deberry@kctcs.edu .

Looking forward to hosting you in March 2019!
