GED College Ready + Credit

What is GED College Ready + Credit?

The GED® test is more than just a high school equivalency exam – it can also help you earn college credit. The GED® College Ready + Credit designation is awarded when a student scores in the highest performance level (175–200) on any of the four GED® subject tests: Reasoning Through Language Arts, Mathematical Reasoning, Science, or Social Studies.

This score demonstrates that you have not only mastered high school content but have also shown readiness for college-level coursework. Colleges, including Gateway, may award you credit for certain introductory courses based on these scores. This can save you time and money as you move toward your degree.

 How do I earn credit?

  1. Take the GED® Test – Register and complete the GED® exam through an authorized testing center or official online testing. You can learn more about Northern Kentucky Adult Education here: Northern Kentucky Adult Education
  2. Earn a College Ready + Credit Score – Score between 175–200 on any subject area test
  3. Submit Your Official GED® Transcript – Request your official transcript from GED® Testing Service to be sent directly to Gateway
  4. Credit is Awarded – Once verified, Gateway will apply the appropriate credit to your academic record. Credit may vary by subject and program of study

You can be awarded the following credits based on your scores in the subject areas:
