Mandatory Fee** (all students): $8/credit hour
Distance Learner Fee*** $20/credit hour

What's With the ***?

Great question!

The first * is for contiguous counties. Contiguous counties are those which border Kentucky. Students from these counties pay a special tuition rate. Students from Reciprocity Counties pay in-state tuition.

Next, the ** is the KCTCS BuildSmart Investment for Kentucky Competitiveness fee.

+For students who are enrolled in online-only courses, the tuition is the same regardless of your residency. Other fees, such as the mandatory fee and a distance learning course fee of $20/credit hour still apply.

Tuition and charges are determined by the Kentucky Community and Technical College System Board of Regents. For payment deadlines, refer to the college academic calendar.

Security Charge: $40 per on-campus student per semester (link shows student groups exempted from the charge)

Tuition/charges are subject to change without prior notice and must be paid seven (7) days prior to the beginning of the semester or at time of registration. Schedule changes that result in additional tuition and charges after the first day of the semester must be paid upon change.

Dual Credit Tuition Rate

Tuition for Dual Credit (DC) students is $91 (50% of the normal in-state tuition).

DC students will receive a bill for the dual credit courses taken that are not covered by a scholarship.

In an effort to make sure that your bill accounts for scholarship funding, your bill for dual credit classes is sent mid-October (for the fall semester) and mid-March (for the spring semester). However, if information is not received about your scholarship by the established deadlines, a bill will be generated.

You are responsible for classroom costs that are not covered by tuition or by your high school or school district, such as textbooks and online material.
