Gateway Community & Technical College proudly announces Professor Rock Neelly’s, release of “Babylon Blues,” a collection of short cases, and the novella, “A Brand New Me,” the latest installments in his disabled veteran private investigator series, the Purple Heart Mysteries.
The Purple Heart Mystery series tells of Clayton Grace and Roddy O’Malley who are disabled Iraq War veterans, turned private detectives. With only one leg between them and a good sense of humor, they risk life and limb to help the citizenry of Los Angeles.
“Babylon Blues” features new adventures of O’Malley and Grace as they battle gang banger moguls, assassins, would-be vampires, and other cockroaches right out of the cracks in L.A.’s mean streets.
In “A Brand New Me,” an abusive husband pays to track his wife and daughter down, and only the detectives of the Purple Heart Detective Agency stand between them. They know their client is the reason for the women’s disappearance, but are they just trying to escape an abuser or did something much worse come to pass?
“Babylon Blues” and “A Brand New Me” will launch locally at Braxton Brewery 27 West 7th Street, Covington, on Sept. 20, 4-7 p.m., with musical guest Nick Baker, and at the Trinity Pub, 8953 Princeton Glendale Road, West Chester, OH, on Sept. 23, 1-3 p.m.
