Brandenburg Honored By Gateway Peers As Outstanding Staff Member For 2010-11

Linda Brandenburg of Lawrenceburg, Ind., has been selected by her peers at Gateway Community and Technical College for New Horizons recognition as Gateways outstanding support staff member for the 2010-11 academic year.

Brandenburg was honored along with representatives from the other 15 colleges in the Kentucky Community and Technical College System and the System Office at an awards ceremony in May during the annual New Horizons conference.

This is a singular achievement because there is no higher honor in KCTCS than to be selected by your peers for New Horizons recognition, said Gateway President/CEO Ed Hughes. Gateway is fortunate to have a highly talented group of support professionals, and Linda represents the very best of them.
Currently an administrative assistant at the colleges Covington Campus, Brandenburg was nominated for her work during the 2010-11 academic year as the only full-time support staff member in the Financial Aid Office.

Linda identified several issues causing delays for students and enormous increases in workload for her and the financial aid counselors, Dr. Hughes said. She developed a simple but effective total package approach to improve student self-service and enable the office to devote its resources to helping students with more complex issues. This increased overall efficiency and student satisfaction with the financial aid process.

Brandenburg has an associate degree from the University of Cincinnati where she worked for 20 years before joining Gateway in 2006.
