Enrollment Steps

To get started you'll need:

  • Your Social Security number.
  • An email address that we can use to contact you.
  • Name and address of the high school you have attended.
  • Name and address of any colleges you have attended.

    Start Your Application
  • Visit the User Account Center to setup your account.
  • Once you’ve activated your User Account, log into your Student Self Service. Click on the “Tasks” tile and complete the Student Financial Agreement Task.
    • This task must be completed before you may meet with an advisor and enroll in courses.

For First Time Students, submit your final high school or GED transcript electronically.

  • High School transcripts and GED transcripts can be ordered online. If you have not graduated from high school yet, your unofficial high school transcript can be used for enrollment into your first semester and your final high school transcript that includes your graduation date will be required for further enrollments.

For Transfer Students, submit official transcripts from any non-KCTCS College. We require official transcripts from all colleges that you have attended, including those that appear on your high school transcript for Dual Credit. College transcripts must be delivered directly from the previous institution via electronic transfer or mailed in a stamped and sealed envelope. If mailing a transcript, please send to the following address:

Gateway Community and Technical College
Attn: Admission Department
790 Thomas More Parkway
Edgewood, KY 41017

College Transcripts can be ordered on National Student Clearinghouse.

GCTC is permitted to place students in coursework based on their official high school GPA. GCTC will accept and enter test scores from high school transcripts. Students may choose to take our free placement exams on campus if desired. You can schedule a placement exam here.

If you have not met the high school GPA requirement, you may need to submit additional test scores or complete our free placement exams on campus.

After completing admissions steps and setting up your user profile account, you’ll attend an advising appointment to plan your semester and register for classes.

Request Your Academic Advising Meeting

We will email you a link to schedule an in-person or virtual appointment.
