Enrollment Steps

To get started you'll need:

  • Your Social Security number.
  • An email address that we can use to contact you.
  • Name and address of the high school you have attended.
  • Name and address of any colleges you have attended.

    Start Your Application
  • You can send Gateway your high school transcript through Parchment. If it asks for an address use 790 Thomas More Pkwy, Edgewood, KY 41017.
  • You can order your GED transcripts here.
  • Don’t forget to send transcripts for all previously attended non-KCTCS colleges, for example, any dual credit classes you may have taken in high school.

GCTC is permitted to place students in coursework based on their official high school GPA. GCTC will still accept and enter test scores from high school transcripts. Students may choose to take our free placement exams on campus if desired. You can schedule a placement exam here. If you earned a GED and chose not to take the MCTC placement exams our advising staff will automatically place you in co-requisite general education classes.

If you have not met the high school GPA requirement, you may need to submit additional test scores.

Request Your Academic Advising Meeting

We will email you a link to schedule an in-person or virtual appointment. Our team typically responds to advising requests within a few hours, but it may take as long as two business days during peak advising times.
