  • AHS 115 Medical Terminology 
  • BIO 135 Basic Anatomy & Physiology with Laboratory (or BIO 137 and BIO 139) 
  • CPR 100 CPR for Healthcare Professionals 
  • Digital Literacy - CIT 105 Introduction to Computers or OST 105 Introduction to Office Systems (or Competency demonstrated by exam) 
  • ENG 101 Writing I
  • Heritage/Humanities General Education course 
  • MAI 105 Introduction to Medical Assisting 
  • MAI 155 Administrative Procedures for the Medical Assistant
  • MAI 162 Medical Assisting Clinical & Laboratory Procedures I
  • MAI 200 Pathophysiology for the Medical Assistant

Notes

  • Progression in the program is contingent upon achievement of a grade C or greater in each course and maintenance of a 2.0 cumulative GPA or above (on a 4.0 scale). 
  • At least 25 percent of the approved curriculum for any certificate, diploma or degree must be completed at the student’s home college.

Note:

  • The Medical Assisting/Phlebotomy Program requires a criminal background check and drug screen with the approved vendor, annual physical examination, proof of vaccinations/titers (Hep B, Tdap, MMR, Varicella, Covid-19, Seasonal Flu), and annual tuberculosis screening. Phlebotomy may not require a drug screen.  More information will be discussed with the Program Coordinator at the required time for completion.
