Career Camps 2025
All of our Career Camps will be open to rising high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors. The deadline to apply for the Health Career Camp is April 11. The deadline to apply for all other camps is April 30.
Students will learn about shop safety, shop tools, lube oil & filter change, fluid checks, tire rotation, brake inspections, tire alignment, warning lights, and basic diagnostics. Students will also learn about careers in the automotive field, meet with automotive professionals to discuss job duties and education requirements, learn and apply new skills in open labs, and make new friends.

Biology encompasses a wide array of subjects, join our camp for an introduction to the exciting world of genetics. Students will engage in hands on activities to learn about DNA Extraction and PCR. These are genetic engineering techniques that are commonly used in the biological science industry, including in the production of genetically modified foods (GMOs). The camp will also include microscopy and organ dissections.

Students will delve into careers in computerized manufacturing and machining, discovering the programs offered by GCTC for these career paths. By engaging in hands-on activities, students will grasp the role of a machinist, distinguish between traditional and additive manufacturing, and create and make a gadget.

Entrepreneurship Camp for high school students, where you'll dive into idea generation by exploring current problems and 2025 trends. Tackle a design challenge to bring your innovative solutions to life. Gain valuable insights through customer feedback and interviews and learn the essentials of business planning. Master the art of competition and marketing to stand out in the market and discover strategies for scaling your business to new heights. This camp is your gateway to becoming a future entrepreneur!

Students will explore healthcare career opportunities, engage with professionals to understand roles and educational needs, practice new skills in simulation labs, achieve basic life support certification, and build new friendships.

Career Camp Capacity: 35/each week (70 total)
Students will learn about manufacturing & engineering technology careers. They will experience hands-on activities with state-of-the-art manufacturing & engineering technologies. Students will explore the ways that different design systems impact the overall success of their design, will be able to look at a 2-Dimensional drawing of a truss bridge and construct a 3-Dimensional, will explore documentation of the various design project alternatives in my engineering notebook, and will create the best weight to strength ratio.

In this 3 day camp, students will learn about the current field of welding and the educational pathways available. Students will be introduced to basic welding concepts and virtual welding. Learn how to apply basic welding and virtual welding concepts and practices and test welding skill theory in real life welding lab. Students will learn about welding career paths, discuss job duties and education requirements, and make new friends.
