Career Camps 2026

All Career Camps are open to rising high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors. The deadline to apply is *April 30.

Students will learn about shop safety, shop tools, lube oil & filter change, fluid checks, tire rotation, brake inspections, tire alignment, warning lights, and basic diagnostics. Students will also learn about careers in the automotive field, meet with automotive professionals to discuss job duties and education requirements, learn and apply new skills in open labs, and make new friends.

Apply for Automotive Career Camp

Biology covers a wide range of exciting topics, like genetics, cell biology, marine biology, microbiology, neuroscience, physiology, plant sciences, immunology, ecology, and biotechnology. We invite you to join our upcoming summer camp for a fun introduction to the amazing world of genetics. During the camp, students will get to:

  • Explore DNA as the building blocks of life
  • Learn about natural selection and how it works in populations
  • See how molecular biology connects to evolution
  • Understand that evolution is based on evidence.

Apply for Biological Sciences Career Camp

Students will explore careers in computerized manufacturing and machining while learning about the programs available at Gateway for these pathways. Through hands-on activities, they will gain insights into machining as a viable career choice, utilize CAD/CAM software (MasterCam) for design and toolpath development, and demonstrate basic milling techniques to produce parts.

Apply for Computerized Manufacturing & Machining Career Camp

Students will learn about careers in the healthcare field, meet with healthcare professionals to discuss job duties and education requirements, learn and apply new skills in simulation labs, earn Basic Life Support Certification, and make new friends at the Health Careers Summer Camps! This camp is completely free for incoming high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors (grade during ‘26-’27 year).

At this camp exploring human resource (HR) careers, students will dive into an immersive learning environment where they will tackle real-world HR simulations. These engaging experiences allow students to:

  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of essential HR processes, such as recruitment, selection, and hiring.
  • Explore vital aspects of training and development, as well as the core principles of compensation and benefits.
  • Understand practical knowledge and skills that are crucial for a successful career in human resources.

Recommended for students interested in exploring careers in HVAC and plumbing, this program builds foundational skills and hands-on experience in the trades. Participants will:

  • Learn safe and proper brazing techniques
  • Apply fundamental pipe-fitting principles
  • Install plumbing fixtures and mini-split systems
  • Understand the basics of water safety

Ideal for students interested in various Information Technology (IT) disciplines. By attending this camp, students will be able to explain components of computer systems & networking basics; apply foundational coding & problem‐solving concepts; identify common cybersecurity risks & basic defenses; and describe IT career pathways, certifications & college options.

Apply for Inside IT: Code, Cyber & AI Careers Camp

Students will explore careers in manufacturing and engineering technology while engaging in hands-on experiences using state-of-the-art equipment and tools. Participants will:

  • Collaborate effectively within engineering design teams
  • Create 2-D technical drawings and construct 3-D truss bridge prototypes
  • Define design challenges, develop solutions, and test and refine their designs
  • Document ideas, alternatives, and results in engineering notebook.

Apply for Manufacturing Engineering Technology Career Camp

In this engaging 4-day camp, students will explore the dynamic field of welding and discover the educational pathways that lie ahead. They will be introduced to fundamental welding concepts as well as virtual welding techniques. Participants will have the opportunity to:

  1. Implement workplace safety procedures
  2. Handle tools and machines safely
  3. Assemble and disassemble a welder while performing basic repairs
  4. Weld at a beginner level using MIG, Flux, and Stick processes.
