Nationwide Test of the Emergency Alert System
The FCC and FEMA will be conducting a nation-wide test of the Emergency Alert System on Wednesday, November 9, at 2 p.m. EST. This test is being conducted to assess the reliability and effectiveness of the system as a way to alert the public during nation-wide emergencies. As this is the first nation-wide test, it is important that everyone understand that this is just a test, and not an emergency. You may receive inquiries in response to the alert and can reassure the general public that this is a test.
