LT. GOVERNOR TO VISIT GATEWAY FOR CAREER CRAZE CAMP

Lt. Governor Jerry Abramson will meet with local middle school students Thursday from 10 a.m. to noon at Gateway Community & Technical Colleges Career Craze camp.

10 students from Grant County Middle School are participating in the camp to learn about high-wage, high-demand careers in energy technologies. The lieutenant governor, who is the honorary chair of the statewide Career Craze initiative taking place across the state at Kentucky Community and Technical College System campuses, will visit the Gateway camp to witness student project presentations and graduation ceremonies.

"As honorary chair of this initiative, Im thrilled to promote our community and technical college system and encourage students and their families to consider a technical career," said Abramson. "Parents often overlook the great paying career opportunities that their children can access with a community college certificate or associate degree. This makes KCTCS Career Craze summer camp program even more valuable to our Kentucky families."

Energy Career Craze campers are studying the fundamentals of an energy audit, and they work in teams to solve a problem related to the energy sector. These teams will present their solutions to industry partners and parents during Abramsons visit.

This event is open to the public at Gateway's Center for Advanced Manufacturing located at 500 Technology Way in Florence.
