Gateway and Brighton Center Offer Free Computer and Customer Service Training to People with Limited Income

Through a partnership with the Brighton Center and One Stop Northern Kentucky, Gateway Community & Technical College is offering free career training in computer skills and customer service to people with limited income.

The training can lead to Gateway certificates in Microsoft Office technologies and/or customer service. The computer training consists of a four-part course that focuses on keyboarding and Microsoft Word and Excel 2007. In the eight-hour customer service course, participants will learn the basics of good customer service.

Interested students may contact One Stop Northern Kentucky to register and to determine eligibility, which is based on income levels and household size. Each student will be assigned a career advisor to help identify and meet academic and career goals.

Classes will be held at the Brighton Centers Center for Employment Training in Newport. Class dates and times vary in May and June. To register, call Lisa Murphy (859) 372-8416 at the Florence One Stop or Karen Frakes, (859) 292-2617 at the Covington One Stop.
