Gateway's Shaughnessy One of 30 U.S. Community College Leaders Selected for Executive Leadership Institute
A national review panel has selected Dr. Tim Shaughnessy, associate provost for academic affairs at Gateway Community & Technical College, to attend the prestigious Executive Leadership Institute next week in Phoenix.
The institute is sponsored by the League for Innovation in the Community College.
Only 30 persons nationwide are chosen to participate; all hold senior-level leadership
positions in community colleges throughout the United States.
Gerardo E. de los Santos, president and CEO of the League for Innovation, said, The
review panel was extremely impressed with the quality of the applicants, which speaks
well for the future vitality of the community college.
The institute is a training ground for community college leaders who have the potential
to serve in a presidential capacity. Participants interact with nationally and internationally
recognized community college leaders who serve as institute faculty. These include
community college chief executive officers, experts in leadership development, community
college trustees, presidential search consultants, members of the League for Innovation
board of directors, and other prominent figures.
The League is an international association dedicated since 1968 to continuous improvement
in community colleges. The institute occurs Dec. 7-12.
