Gateway's Schindler Chairs NACADA Commission

Wendy Kay Schindler, coordinator of orientation at Gateway Community & Technical College, has been elected chair of the LGBTQA Advising and Advocacy Commission of the National Academic Advising Association (NACADA).

Schindler is responsible for providing leadership for Commission activities. The LGBTQA Advising and Advocacy Commission provides information on professional development opportunities, successful practices, and a support network for academic advising professionals of all identities as they advocate for all students, whether LGBTQA-identified or not.

Schindler, of Covington, joined Gateway as an academic advisor in 2010 and was promoted to her current position in 2013.

NACADA promotes student success by advancing the field of academic advising globally and providing opportunities for professional development, networking, and leadership.
