Gateway Community & Technical College will confer 1,555 academic credentials to 1,084 students at graduation ceremonies at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 19, at the Northern Kentucky Convention Center. Both numbers credentials and graduates hit record-high levels.
This is the largest graduating class in Gateway history and reflects the tremendous growth Gateway has experienced in the past 10 years, as well as the determination of our students, said President/CEO G. Edward Hughes.
The credential count includes 353 associate degrees, 62 college-level diplomas, and
979 technical certificates. Also included are 161 students receiving GEDs from Kentucky
Adult Education, which participates in the colleges ceremony as a Gateway partner.
Larry Savage, chief executive officer of Humanas six-state Midwest Region, is the
graduation speaker. During the ceremony, Gateway will announce the recipients of the
coveted Presidents Award and Student Choice Awards. The Presidents Award goes to the
student or students who have made a lasting impact on the college or the Kentucky

adjunct faculty and staff members who are deemed by students to have provided outstanding
