
Gateway Targets Adult Learners with Recruiting Fairs April 18 and 30
Gateway Community & Technical College will host Adult Learner Fairs April 18 and 30 at two locations to offer enrollment and financial aid information tailored for non-traditional students interested in attending college.The April 18 fair will take place at the colleges Urban Center, 525 Scott Blvd., Covington, from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The April 30 fair will occur at the Center for Advanced Manufacturing on the Boone Campus at 500 Technology Way, Florence, from 5 to 8 p.m.
Gateway representatives will be on hand at each location to answer questions about admissions, financial aid, academic programs and career-oriented degrees, campus locations, transportation and student services. Representatives from the local adult education program will be on hand to provide information about the GED and the test changes coming in January 2014.
In addition, representatives of a wide variety of community agencies will be on hand at the April 18 event in Covington to provide participants information on community services available to them.
The Adult Learner College Fairs are free and open to the public. They are designed to provide information to adults about exciting careers in such fields as business, information technology, personal and protective services, health care and advanced manufacturing. Gateway credentials can prepare students for high-paying jobs with current openings; students can complete a credential in as little as a few months.
