
Gateway Recruiting Part-time Instructors
Gateway Community & Technical College has openings for part-time instructors in technical
and general education subjects and will conduct part-time faculty recruitment fairs
Nov. 7 and 9 to identify qualified candidates.
Gateway is seeking daytime and evening part-time instructors to teach general education
classes as well as part-time instructors for classes in the following technical fields:
blueprint reading; geometric dimensioning and tolerancing; statistical process control;
fundamentals of machine tool; metrology/control charts; electrical circuits; HVAC;
CAD/CAM/CAN; 3-D programming; welding; plumbing; motor controls lab; programmable
logic controllers; maintaining industrial equipment; and fluid power.
The college is also looking for part-time instructors for other technical programs
such as automotive, business, criminal justice, graphic arts, computer information
technology, early childhood education, and allied health.
The fairs will provide interested candidates with information about teaching opportunities
and offer the opportunity to meet with Human Resources and academic division chairs.
Successful candidates for general education part-time instructor positions will have
work-related experience and a masters degree in the subject field. The requirements
to teach in technical fields include a minimum of an associate degree with two years
of work experience related to the subject field, as well as appropriate current credential
or certification. Examples include Journeyman card for machining; National Occupational
Competency Testing Institute credit; Master Electrician license; OSHA certification;
and associate welding inspector, American Welding Society.
The Nov. 7 information session will begin at 6 p.m. at the colleges Edgewood Campus
in Room E101 in the Student Services Center at 790 Thomas More Parkway. The Nov. 9
session will begin at 9 a.m. at the Center for Advanced Manufacturing, Room 123, at
Gateway's Boone Campus at 500 Technology Way, Florence.
