Gateway Participating in Kentuckys First Online College Fair
You've heard of March Madness, but what about Transfer Madness?
Transfer Madness, Kentucky's first online college fair, will take place from 10 a.m.to
10 p.m. March 6 at www.transfermadness.org.
The virtual fair is open to the public and is aimed at providing information to current college or high school students about the process of transferring from a community college to a four-year university or transferring between colleges.
This is a great opportunity for both Gateway's students and our regions high school students to learn how smart it is to complete an associate degree here, then transfer to a four-year college to finish a bachelors, said Mike Rosenberg, Director of Transfer at Gateway Community & Technical College.
Understanding the transfer option is important. Students can save about 40 percent of the cost of a college degree if they take their first two years with us and complete the remainder at a four-year institution, Rosenberg added. Gateway's credits transfer to any public or private university whether across Kentucky or across the nation.
During the fair, participants can:
- Download e-brochures, videos and podcasts;
- Chat live with agents from all of Kentucky's public and private postsecondary institutions, including Gateway and other KCTCS colleges;
- Register for scholarships and exciting prizes.
