Gateway Names Building for The Bank of Kentucky

Gateway Community & Technical College today named an existing instructional facility at it Boone Campus as The Bank of Kentucky Classroom and Training Center in appreciation of a $1 million investment by the bank in Gateway's developing Urban Campus.

When the Bank of Kentucky gift was originally announced, Ed Hughes, Gateway president and CEO, explained that Gateway would put the Bank of Kentucky name on the Boone Campus building this spring and also recognize the bank later on by naming an appropriate interior space in the banks honor at the Urban Campus.

We are sincerely grateful for the banks support of the college and the Urban Campus, Hughes said. The building that now bears the name of The Bank of Kentucky Classroom and Training Center is a symbol of the hope people have when they come here to the Boone Campus to learn skills that lift them into a world of endless possibilities.

"We are committed to opening up that world to all the residents of Northern Kentucky," Hughes said, "and The Bank of Kentucky's investment in Gateway shows its similar, deep commitment to the future of the region."

The Bank of Kentucky Classroom and Training Center at the Boone Campus is a 30,000-square-foot building that houses general classrooms, industrial labs, Gateway's Workforce Solutions Division, and meeting rooms often used by a variety of Northern Kentucky organizations and employers. Workforce Solutions collaborates extensively with local business and industry to provide workforce preparation and customized training for businesses and incumbent workers.

The building opened in 2005 and was the first constructed specifically for Gateway. The facility has become a hub for Gateway's business and industry partners across the Northern Kentucky region.
