Gateway Hosts Open House April 1
Gateway Community & Technical College will host an open house April 1 from noon to
3 p.m. at its Edgewood Campus at 790 Thomas More Parkway in Edgewood.
Its a great way to come and see what Gateway is doing here at the Edgewood Campus,
said Lance Nelson, associate professor and massage therapy program coordinator. People
drive by our walls every day, and they know we are educating students, but they really
need to see the fun and innovative ways we are doing it. Gateway's Massage Center
will be offering free massages during the open house.
The open house also will spotlight many of Gateway's allied health education programs,
including Nursing Assistant, Phlebotomy, Medical Assisting, EMT, Paramedic, Pharmacy
Technician, Medical Records Coding Specialist, Electronic Health Records, and Human
Services.
This event is an excellent opportunity for potential students who are interested in
pursuing health careers, but don't know where to start, said Dr. Ross Santell, Gateway
associate provost and Dean of nursing and allied health. Its also a good time to learn
about Gateway in general, including access to financial aid, and the variety of student
services available for veterans and low-income students.
Gateway is conducting a transfer fair at Edgewood on the same day from 11 a.m. to
2 p.m. Our credits transfer to any school, anywhere; our Spring Transfer Fair is a
great opportunity for students to explore their options after completing a degree
at Gateway, said Mike Rosenberg, director of transfer. About 30 of our four-year school
partners, including all Cincinnati-area private and public colleges and universities,
will be in attendance to provide information about their transfer programs and scholarships.
