Gateway Hosts KCTCS President Michael McCall at December 9 Luncheon Open to the Public
Gateway Community & Technical College will host Michael B. McCall, president of the
Kentucky Community and Technical College System, at a public luncheon Wednesday, December
9. The public is invited to attend the event, which is one highlight of Dr. McCalls
day-long visit to Northern Kentucky.
Registration for the noon luncheon at The Madison Event Center, 700 Madison Avenue,
Covington, begins at 11:30 a.m. Tickets are $10 per person; for reservations, people
may call (859) 431-1500 or visit www.cbcky.com.
Dr. McCalls visit is part of a statewide effort to educate the public about the vital
role community and technical colleges play in enhancing our economy, said G. Edward
Hughes, president and CEO of Gateway, a KCTCS member college. Various events are scheduled
throughout the day with government and community leaders, as well as employees and
students.
We have planned a full day of activities to engage community leaders, the public,
employees and students in conversations about what community and technical colleges
need to fulfill their role, Dr. Hughes added.
Dr. McCalls visit is part of a tour featuring stops at each of the 16 KCTCS colleges.
"I look forward to meeting with citizens across the state to share how KCTCS is providing
Kentucky what it needs right now - real opportunity for real people in real time,"
said Dr. McCall.
Last year, the colleges of KCTCS trained more than 120,000 credit-seeking students,
nearly 30,000 nursing and allied health students, more than 50,000 employees serving
nearly 5,000 businesses, more than 11,000 students who transferred to four-year institutions,
and more than 23,000 distance learning students. To learn more about KCTCS and support
its advocacy efforts, visit http://transform.kctcs.edu/.
We encourage anyone interested finding out more about how Gateway and KCTCS are transforming
the lives of individuals and the states economy to attend the luncheon at The Madison,
Dr. Hughes said.
