Gateway Highlights IT Career Opportunities

Gateway Community & Technical College invites students, potential students and the community to explore career options in information technology (IT) at the IT Career Day, April 21, at Gateway's Urban Metro Campus.

Attendees will learn about careers and trends in IT from professionals in the field, meet with career coaches to review resumes and interview skills, and discover how companies hire IT talent.

Guest panelists include Dave Hatter, Partner amp; Solutions Architect, Definite Partners; Marty Beets, Director of Information Technology, Cincinnati Public Library; Michael Guterl, Web Developer, Gaslight; Harold Eder, Director of IT Infrastructure, St. Elizabeth Healthcare; JB Woodruff, Commercialization Director, The Kentucky Innovation Network; Casey Barach, SVP Entrepreneurship @ Tri-Ed/eZone.

The keynote speaker, Dale Marie Pontz, will speak on "The long and winding road of doing what you love or loving what you do." Pontz has a BA in Speech Communication from Northern Kentucky University and an MA in Communication from the University of Cincinnati.

This is a great opportunity for our IT students to learn from professionals in the field and become prepared to launch successful careers when they graduate."

Gateway's IT Career Day takes place Tuesday, April 21, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., at the Urban Metro Campus in the Center for Technology, Innovation and Enterprise (TIE) building, 516 Madison Avenue, Covington.
