
Gateway Faculty Named EMS Educator of the Year
Joshua Ishmael, Gateway Community & Technical College Emergency Medical Services (EMS)
instructor, was named EMS Educator of the Year at a banquet hosted by St. Elizabeth
Healthcare on May 19.
Ishmael has been an instructor in Gateway's program for three years teaching Medical Emergencies I, Medical Emergencies II, and Special Populations. He also serves as the chairman of Gateway's program advisory committee.
In just three short years, Josh has made ten years of contributions to Gateway's program, said Brandon Schoborg, assistant paramedic program coordinator at Gateway. Its great to have someone of his caliber in our program guiding our students in the right direction.
In addition to his role with Gateway, Ishmael serves as EMS coordinator for St. Elizabeth Medical Center. This role adds to the experience and expertise he brings to the classroom at Gateway.
Josh is an outstanding instructor. Our National Registry statistics continue to climb, particularly in the areas that he teaches, said Dawn L. Bloemer, paramedic amp; EMT program coordinator at Gateway Community amp; Technical College. I rely on him for feedback and advice, and the students believe he is the finest teacher out there.
