Gateway Campuses Conduct Severe Weather Drill, March 19
Gateway Community amp; Technical College is conducting a Severe Weather Drill on Wednesday,
March 19, at 2 p.m. It will be announced as a SNAP message, and all faculty, staff,
students, and visitors are required to move to appropriate areas as if it is an actual
event. An All Clear message will be sent to signal when you can return to your classrooms/offices.
This is a good time to remind everyone of the procedures to follow in the event of
severe weather. Storm watches and warnings advise us of dangerous weather conditions.
Gateway will activate our severe weather procedure anytime that a tornado warning
has been issued during operating hours for a county where we have a campus located. Emergency
information posters are located in each office and classroom.
Weather Alert Radios have been placed throughout the College in offices where they
can be monitored. Gateway has fifty faculty and staff members who have been trained
to activate a SNAP Alert in the event of an emergency or severe weather situation.
