
Gateway Board Elects New Officers
The board of directors of Gateway Community & Technical College elected new officers at the boards annual meeting at the colleges Urban Center in Covington on Nov. 17. The officers will serve a two-year term that begins immediately.The officers are Martha Johnson, chair; Richard Fowler, vice chair; and Brent Cooper, secretary. Katheryn Cook was appointed as parliamentarian. Johnson previously served as vice chair. She is a retired corporate executive and a resident of Melbourne. She was appointed to the Gateway board in 2007. She succeeds Richard Jordan, of Walton, who was the founding chair of the Gateway board and who served in that capacity for 10 years. Jordan is vice president and general manager of LSI Industries.
Fowler, pastor of the Ninth Street Baptist Church in Covington, is a founding member of the board and was re-appointed in 2007. He has previously served the board as a committee chair. Fowler succeeds Johnson as vice chair.
Cooper, of Fort Thomas, is founder, president and owner of C-Forward, an information technology services firm. Appointed to the board in 2007, he previously served as parliamentarian. He succeeds Ken Paul, a communications consultant and retired executive who has been a Gateway director since the board was founded in 2001.
Cook succeeds Cooper as parliamentarian. A resident of California, Ky., Cook is Chief Nurse, Medical amp; Surgical Nursing, at the Cincinnati VA Medical Center. She was appointed to the Gateway board in 2007.
