
Gateway and NKU host education fair for veterans
Gateway Community & Technical College and Northern Kentucky University (NKU) will host an educational fair for military members, veterans and their families Aug. 18, 11:00 a.m. 2:00 p.m. The event will take place on Gateway's Urban Metro Campus in the Center for Technology, Innovation and Enterprise (TIE) building, 516 Madison Avenue, Covington.
"Gateway is committed to serving veterans and their families. As veterans serving veterans, we know the challenges they face," said Daniel Ridley, Gateway Vets advisor and Gateway Board member. "Our goal is to help them get the education they need and get them employed. Were all about improving quality of life for our Veterans."
This educational fair is a collaboration of the Northern Kentucky University Veterans Resource Center, Gateway VETS and the Gateway Human Services program. The goal of this event is to provide information to veterans, current active duty, national guard and reserve military members, and military families regarding degree programs at Gateway and NKU.
Fair attendees will also learn about the Gateway2NKU dual enrollment partnership designed for Gateway students who intend to complete an associate degree at Gateway then transfer to NKU for a bachelor's degree.
This event is free and open to the public. Free parking with validated ticket is also available in the Midtown Garage on the corner of 5th and Scott streets. Parking ticket validation is done in the TIE building.
