Beta Pi Tau Chapter of Gateway Joins Relay For Life

We are only 15 days out from the American Cancer Society Kenton County Relay for Life. Relay for Life is a unique and fun way to raise money and awareness for the American Cancer Society. Relay for Life is a 12 hour event involving teams of 10-15 or more people who will keep at least one team member on the track the entire time. Our Kenton County Relay for Life will take place at Dixie Heights High School in Edgewood May 15-16 from 4 p.m. to 6 a..m. You do not have to stay the whole night, if possible just come from 6 to 11 p.m. Hundreds of people will be joining together to fight back against cancer.

Our team goal is to raise $2,000 for the American Cancer Society for funded research, education, advocacy and services. If you cannot be part of our team, you can still participate as a donor. Just make a check payable to the American Cancer Society for any amount and send it to Amy Monson, 1025 Amsterdam Road, Covington, KY 41011 or donate online. We can make a difference together because there is no finish line until we find a cure.

Our team, the Beta Pi Tau Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa at Gateway will sponsor an hour lap from 8 to 9 p.m. with a theme of "Disney Parade". You are welcome to dress in a Disney costume and walk to Disney music for this hour. Children are very welcome and there will be events for them!

Encourage any cancer survivors to come at 6 p.m. for the opening and the special survivors lap around the track. After this lap, all survivors and one guest will be invited inside the school for a dinner.

Thank you in advance for your support! If you have any questions, contact Amy Monson, amy.monson@kctcs.edu, or (859) 442-1149.

This is a great event and we hope you will become involved in some way!
