
Gateway student elected to serve on KCTCS board

A Gateway student was elected by their Student Government Association (SGA) peers
to serve on the Kentucky Community and Technical College System’s (KCTCS) Board of Regents and to serve as student body
co-president. Ric Smith of Gateway Community & Technical College was chosen and will serve a one-year term on the board and as student body co-president. His term begins
immediately and continues through August 2018.
Smith lives in Latonia and is pursuing an associate of applied science at Gateway. He was elected as the college’s 2017-18 SGA president. He is a member of the Society for Collegiate Leadership & Achievement, Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society and the National Technical Honor Society. He is a peer tutor and was awarded the Outstanding Student Tutor of the Year for 2016-17.
