Gateway, Brighton Center, offer free CDL training

Gateway Community & Technical College, Brighton Center, the Kentucky Career Center and CVG partnered together to offer a free training opportunity and paid internship for ages 18-24.

This program includes four weeks of CDL training at Gateway Community & Technical College’s Transportation Technology Center. After completion of the training and passing the exam, students will receive a Commercial Driver’s License Class A (CDL) certificate.

The program then offers students a paid, four-week internship at a local, in-demand industry employer at the CVG campus, getting paid $13.25 an hour. The program also offers the opportunity to be hired with Sp+ out of CVG.

Classes begin in April 2020. Space is limited. Contact Brendan Goth, Youth Talent Development Coordinator at Brighton Center, bgoth@brightoncenter.com, (859) 292-2642, for more information.

Funding for this program is through the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA).
