Scholarships at Gateway are more flexible than those found at many four-year institutions because they reflect the needs of our student population. Gateway scholarships allow students to pay for books and tuition, but also tests, end of program certifications, specialized equipment, and in some cases, even food and emergency expenses. Our scholarships are designed to help students get what they need to be successful in their academic careers, not just to help pay for them to be in the classroom.
No student should have to go hungry. That’s why the Gateway Foundation provides funds to support our Food for Thought Pantry (Gateway’s food pantry with locations at all of our campuses). In 2023 alone, more than 10,000 lbs. of food and goods were distributed to over 2,400 students and their families. The food pantry helps students in immediate need, regardless of income and household size. We have food pantries on all three of our campuses to support students the same day, no matter where they are located.
By donating to support the greatest need, you're helping Gateway students by addressing a wide variety of needs. The Gateway Foundation uses greatest need donations to address needs as they arise and your support allows us to remove barriers and support students.
There are many other initiatives your gift can support such as our Student Career Center, our Childcare Initiative, our Student Ambassador Program, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives, employee development, and others! If none of these initiatives speak to you, contact us and we will work with you directly to develop a customized approach that aligns with your interests and philanthropic goals.
