Application for Advanced Standing for LPN to RN Bridge

Fall 2024 COHORT

The deadline to apply for the Fall 2024 Nursing Cohort is Wednesday, May 1, 2024.

Thank you for your interest in applying for Advanced Standing in Gateway’s Associate Degree Nursing Program, through our accelerated LPN-to-RN Bridge.

Please make sure you have completed all mandatory requirements before applying. Steps in the process include, but not limited to:

• Attendance at advising appointment with Jennifer Wong or Lyndsey McNabb to discuss requirements and procedures to apply for Advanced Standing.
  • Completion of all pre-requisites or in process to be completed by the end of Summer 2024.
• Obtain verification of employment from employer. Employment requirements are a minimum of one year work experience as a bed-side LPN in a full-time capacity within the last three years. If you are working part-time, then a minimum of two years is required. A minimum of two years is recommended if not working in an acute care setting.
• Please write a Personal Letter to the Nursing Admission Committee, discussing the questions below. 
• Talk about your experiences as an LPN. Describe how your past professional experiences will help you in nursing school.
• Describe your most recognized attributes or strengths.

After applying, you will be notified about setting up your Challenge Examination(s).

• HESI LPN-ADN Admission Examination. Students only have one attempt, and the recommended score is 800.
