Have you ever wondered how you could get extra money to help pay your tuition, books
and fees that are not covered by your FAFSA financial aid? Have you said to yourself,
"I wish I didn't have to take out these student loans?" If so, there is an answer!
Apply for scholarships!!
The Financial Aid Office at Gateway Community amp; Technical College is now accepting scholarship applications for the 2011-2012 academic school year. Gateway offers 24 different categories of scholarships. Some are general scholarships for students in any field. Some are dedicated to students in such disciplines as advanced manufacturing, electrical technology, computer-assisted drafting and design, education, nursing and allied health. Eligibility requirements vary, but scholarships are available for single parents, minority students and students showing academic promise and having a grade point average of at least 2.0 on a 4.0 scale. In the year of 2010-2011, Gateway offered just over $224,000 in merit - based scholarship funds to eligible students.
Heres how to apply:

Also, please review each scholarship carefully because some require separate applications and writing statements.
