Gateway Speech Team Ends Successful Season with 2nd Place Finish and Best Overall Speaker Award

The Gateway Community and Technical College Speech Team ended the 2009-2010 season by earning second place in the sweepstakes team category at the Marty Cowan Invitational Speech Tournament in Owensboro on April 17, 2010.

Individual winners included:

Rosemary Gina Wolfe, an Associate in Science major from Bellevue, earned first place in the following individual events: radio broadcasting, informative speaking, extemporaneous speaking, impromptu speaking, and impromptu counseling speaking. Wolfe was named the overall best speaker in the tournament.

Stephanie Wolfe, an Associate in Science major from Hebron, was a finalist in informative speaking, impromptu speaking, and impromptu counseling. She was named sixth best speaker in the tournament.

Lynn Allen, an Associate in Science major from Southgate, was a finalist in informative speaking, impromptu speaking, and impromptu counseling. She was named eighth best speaker in the tournament.

Aaron Sonman, an Associate in Science major from Independence, was a finalist in impromptu speaking. He was named ninth best speaker in the tournament.
