Gateway Offers Hospitality Management Workshops In April

The Workforce Solutions Division of Gateway Community and Technical College will conduct three hospitality management workshops at the colleges Boone Campus in April.

The workshops will take place on Tuesdays from 8 a.m. to noon at the Classroom and Training Building at 500 Technology Way in Florence. The cost is $99 per session or $250 for all three. The deadline to register for any session is March 22.

Workshops include The Hallmarks of Supervisory Success on April 5, which is designed to help participants develop strategies to effectively assume, develop and enhance a supervisory role.

The second workshop covers Customer Service and will be held April 12. This one aims to help participants understand their critical role in a customer service transaction and how to make customers feel welcome through the use of effective appearance, body language, energy level and voice tones.

The third workshop in the series occurs on April 19. ServSafe Alcohol: Fundamentals of Responsible Alcohol Service is a risk management program for all front-of-the-house staff, including bartenders, waiters, hosts, bussers, security personnel and valets. The workshop outlines effective practices and a team-based approach toward the prevention of difficult situations involving the over-consumption of alcohol.
