Gateway Now Offers a 4-week Commercial Drivers License (CDL) Training Course

Gateway Community & Technical College, in partnership with Lake Cumberland CDL Training School, now offers Commercial Drivers License (CDL) training.

This full-time CDL course, the only one of its kind in Northern Kentucky, is designed for those with little or no commercial driving experience who are interested a high pay, high demand field, or for companies seeking CDL certification for employees.

During four weeks of instruction in the classroom, yard and on the road, students will learn map-reading, trip-planning, DOT rules/regulations/log books, and are trained in vehicle operation.

The first class begins March 16, 2015. Thereafter, new classes begin the first and third Monday of each month, meeting Monday-Thursday 8:00 a.m. 7:00 p.m.

Applicants must be at least eighteen years of age and able to pass a federal Department of Transportation (DOT) physical and drug test to qualify.

Tuition is $4,000.00 and includes instruction, permit, license fees for driving test administered by the Kentucky State Police, DOT physical and drug test. Job placement assistance is also available for those who successfully complete the training. Some may qualify for Workforce Investment Act (WIA) funding.
