Gateway Classes Will Begin at Two Rivers March 15

Gateway Community and Technical College said today that spring bi-term classes will begin March 15 at its Urban Center at the former Two Rivers Middle School at 525 Scott Boulevard across from the Kenton County Public Library in downtown Covington. The classes include Gateway and Kentucky Adult Education classes formerly offered at 212 Levassor Avenue or evening classes offered by Gateway at Holmes High School.

Urban Center offices will move to the Scott Boulevard location next week. The move from Levassor to the Two Rivers location will enable Gateway to offer more classes than previously offered. The complete list of spring bi-term classes is available on the Gateway website at www.gateway.kctcs.edu from a link on the front page. Students will receive additional information in the next few days. If they have questions, they may contact Mallis Graves at 859-442-1608 or mallis.graves@kctcs.edu.

Gateway entered an agreement last fall with Covington Independent Public Schools to lease the Two Rivers facility after it was vacated by CIPS. We believe it is a win-win-win situation, said Gateway President and CEO G. Edward Hughes. Our use of the building puts a CIPS facility back in the education business. We gain additional classroom space to better serve the urban community, and urban students have improved access to educational opportunities. We very much appreciate the input and collaboration from CIPS, city officials and others who have put the best interests of the students first and enabled this expansion to occur.
