Gateway Accepting Students for Jan. 30 Start, Best Path to College or the Job Market
Is starting college one of your new years resolutions? You can meet that goal right
away. Gateway Community & Technical College is currently accepting students to start
classes Jan. 30.
We have a 12-week semester starting Jan. 30 for anyone who wants to make 2012 the year they get a fresh start on the future, said Andre Washington, Gateway dean of enrollment services.
With tuition of $135 per credit hour, Gateway is the affordable pathway to a high paying career or completing the first two years of a four-year degree, Washington added. Our credits transfer, enabling students to save 50 percent of the cost of a four-year degree at any public university in Kentucky. Plus, we offer free parking on all all of our campuses.
Gateway offers a wide variety of majors that prepare students for high-wage, high-demand jobs in currently hiring industries, such as manufacturing, information technology, business and emerging new fields in health care. Financial aid is available, and Gateway provides help with the application process. Classes are offered at Gateway campuses in Covington, Edgewood and Florence.
In addition, a federal Health Professions Opportunity Grant offers tuition assistance and other benefits to low-income individuals interested in pursuing certain allied health careers. We believe the quality and variety of our programs, our affordable tuition and the success services we offer our students make us the best path to a college education or the job market in Northern Kentucky, Washington said. But you don't have to be a Kentucky resident to attend, and most tri-state residents can attend for our low in-state tuition.
Gateway accepts students who have graduated from high school, who have earned a high school general equivalency diploma (GED), who are eligible to pursue a GED, who want to transfer from another college, or who are dually enrolled in high school and Gateway.
