Associate in Arts and Associate in Science Requirements

Associate in Arts DEGREE: 61 total Credit Hours

Degree requirements:

  • Completion of minimum of 60 credit hours
  • Minimum cumulative 2.0 GPA
  • Minimum of 15 credit hours earned at the institution awarding the degree
  • Completion of Cultural Studies course
  • Demonstration of Digital Literacy
  • Completion of a College Success requirement

  • Arts and Humanities (Heritage)
  • Arts and Humanities (Humanities)
  • Arts and Humanities or Social/Behavioral Science or Foreign Language or Oral Communications (6 credit hours)
  • Elective (15 credit hours) **
  • Elective (Digital Literacy course - OST 105 or CIT 105 or other approved course)
  • FYE 105 Achieving Academic Success
  • Natural Sciences (must include a laboratory experience*)
  • Additional Natural Sciences or Quantitative Reasoning
  • Oral Communications
  • Quantitative Reasoning (any MAT/STA above 140 or PHI 250)
  • Social/Behavioral Sciences (2 disciplines must be represented) (9 credit hours)
  • Written Communication – ENG 101
  • Written Communication – ENG 102

  • * Credit from a dedicated lab course can be used in Electives
  • ** Supplemental workshop hours above 100 may be used in Electives
  • At least 25 percent of the approved curriculum for any certificate, diploma or degree must be completed at the student’s home college.
