Gateway Education and Training Program

Gateway Education and Training Program

A Pathway to Employment

The Gateway Employment and Training program (GET) serves Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) recipients who are either currently enrolled at Gateway Community & Technical College, interested in enrolling, or attending Adult Education/GED classes. Students in this program receive individualized services that help support their family/school/work balance including counseling, advising and career development. Our main goal is to support and encourage students from enrollment to graduation.

When you become a SNAP Employment and Training client, we help you with:

  • Assess career goals and options
  • Student success workshops
  • Complete the Department of Community Based Services Verification forms (enrollment, employment, housing, income, etc.)
  • We work closely with your SNAP Case Manager and the Kentucky Career Center to assist with overcoming barriers to your self-sufficiency
  • Transportation
