Peer Allies
Welcome to Gateway's Peer Allies program! The purpose of the Peer Allies is to allow students to make meaningful connections with one another during social isolation and beyond. Students will be able to meet new people, develop lasting relationships, learn about resources at Gateway, resources in the community and attend events together.
The Peer Allies Program is run by our Gateway Student Ambassadors and Dual Credit Student Ambassadors. These students are leaders in and out of the classroom and have a passion for connecting with others.

meet our allies
Hello, my name is Destiny Linton. I am currently in the HST program for Nursing. I
am also involved in three programs at Gateway - TRIO, DEI, and Student Ambassadors.
They are all helpful in many ways from academics, student support, and personal support.
I can't wait to see what else I accomplish with the support team that I have created
here.
My name is Renae Kopser. I am a senior at Ryle High School, and I am also a Dual Credit
student at Gateway. I love being involved at Gateway and my high school. I am a Dual
Credit Student Ambassador at Gateway, and I do cross country/track, FBLA, French Honor
Society, and National Honor society at my high school. My favorite subject in school
is definitely chemistry. I have four siblings, and I love being from a big family.
I love meeting new people, and I look forward to making new friends through the Peer
Allies Program!
My name is Megan Moore.
I am a senior.
I love animals.
I am on the archery team for Scott High School.
I am in the Biomedical Sciences College at Ignite.
My name is Jordan Skidmore. I'm a third-year scholar at the Ignite institute and I
joined the dual credit ambassador program to help others like me. I am studying to
get an Associate in Science and later on becoming a nurse practitioner or physician’s
assistant. Some of my hobbies are painting, watching Netflix and cooking. I love taking
dual credit so I can get ahead and prepare myself better for the medical field. Dual
credit is an amazing opportunity, and it is such a beneficial program.
Connect with our peer allies
Complete the welcome packet below! Once that has been submitted, you will be connected to one of our peer allies through email. You and your ally will work together to figure out how often you want to meet and what time works best for each of you. Your ally will then send you a meeting invite.
All sessions will be very informal and just a time for you to chat and relax! (this
is not a
tutoring program). Sessions will be recorded for security reasons. Virtual events
will be held for everyone in the program and your peer ally will share out dates/times.
Our biggest goal is for you to be able to connect with other students and have some
fun along the way!
