Train to be a Certified Energy Manager at Gateway

Gateway Community and Technical is partnering with the Association of Energy Engineers to conduct Certified Energy Manager training Nov. 17-21 at the college’s Boone Campus.

A Certified Energy Manager works to optimize a facility’s energy performance. The CEM® integrates electrical, mechanical, process and infrastructure systems to reduce energy consumption in a cost-effective approach.

CEMs are often team leaders who help to develop and implement an organization’s energy management strategies, according to the Association of Energy Engineers.
The CEM designation is an energy industry wide accepted standard to help to evaluate a professional’s experience in the field. Several states, the federal government and several large corporations require certification in energy management.

The in-depth, five-day course will cover a broad range of energy topics. The cost of the course is $1,850 per person and includes course materials, the CEM exam fee, and lunch.

The class will be taught from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Room 123 at the Center for Advanced Manufacturing at the Boone Campus, 500 Technology Way, Florence.
