I didn't get really serious about my grades until the end of my high school career. It was then that I decided I wasn't quite ready to dive into a large university setting but I knew that to better my future, I needed a college degree. My Mom was actually attending classes at Gateway and she knew that with the small class sizes and the comfortable environment, Gateway would be a great fit for me.
I wasn't sure what direction to take, so I enrolled in a few Learning Community (LINC) courses at Gateway. LINC courses help students get to know people and make friends in their major or area of interest. These courses also help students create a strong support system comprised of other students, peer mentors, and professors, deepen and broaden their learning experiences, better understand resources that are available to Gateway students and teach students to have fun while learning!
I have friends that have attended large universities and because of Gateway’s convenient course options and dedicated, personal experiences, they have recently transferred to Gateway. I would highly recommend Gateway, especially LINC courses to any incoming freshman. These classes have helped motivate me to stay on track with my course responsibilities and have encouraged me to really enjoy college.
Right now, I am planning to achieve a degree from Gateway, transfer to a university and pursue both a bachelor’s and master’s degree. I’m so glad that I decided to come to Gateway and begin my college career here. I am more because of Gateway. Learn how you can be more through Gateway’s LINC classes.
