We may have one for you!

Gateway Community and Technical College offers dozens of scholarships. Some are general scholarships for students in any field. Some are dedicated to students in disciplines as advanced manufacturing, electrical technology, computer-assisted drafting and design, education, nursing and allied health. Eligibility requirements vary, but scholarships are available for single parents, minority students and students showing academic promise and having a grade point average of at least 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.

  • Arnold Simpson Scholarship
    • Partial tuition for Fall 2014 and Spring 2015
    • Must be a Kentucky resident
    • Must be a student with potential for academic success
    • Must have a high school/college cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher
    • Must be enrolled at least part-time (6 credit hrs) student for Fall 2014 and Spring 2015
    • Must have completed the 2014/2015 FAFSA
    • Must have completed admission process at GCTC by 5/01/14 if new GCTC student
    • Must reapply to be reviewed for second year renewal
  • Bank of Kentucky Scholarship
    • Partial tuition for Fall 2014 and Spring 2015
    • Must be a Kentucky resident
    • Must be a student with potential for academic success 
    • Must have a high school/college cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
    • Must be enrolled as a full-time (12 credit hrs) student for Fall 2013 and Spring 2015
    • Must have completed the 2014/2015 FAFSA
    • Must have completed admission process at GCTC by 05/01/14 if new GCTC student
    • Must demonstrate unmet financial need
    • Must reapply to be reviewed for second year renewal
  • Bowlin Group Scholarship in Electric Technology
    • $4500 for the 2014/2015 year
    • Must be a full time student for the Fall 2014 and Spring 2015 Semesters
    • Must pursue a course of study in Electrical Engineering
    • Maintain a 2.5 cumulative grade point average
    • Must demonstrate potential for academic success
    • Must have completed the 2014-2015 FAFSA
    • Must have completed admission process at GCTC by 05/01/14 if new GCTC student
    • Must demonstrate unmet financial need
    • Must reapply to be reviewed for second year renewal
  • The Butler Scholarship:
    • Enrolled full or part time at Gateway in a program contributing to workforce development in a high-need area or with plans to transfer to a four year institution
    • Must not be related to Sue or Bill Butler or current officers/trustee of the Butler Foundation
    • Demonstrate leadership skills, community involvement, unusual determination and/or special accomplishments
    • Maintain a 2.5 GPA score
    • Must have completed the 2014/2015 FAFSA
  • The Butler Foundation Scholarship Fund:
    • Pays for tuition, books and charges for one year or the gap in funding from other sources
    • Must maintain a GPA of 2.5 or higher
    • Must reside in Boone, Bracken, Campbell, Carroll, Grant, Kenton, Owen or Pendleton counties
    • Demonstrate leadership skills, community involvement, unusual determination and/or special accomplishments
    • Must have completed the 2014/2015 FAFSA
    • Must not be related to Sue or Bill Butler or current officer/trustee of the Butler Foundation
    • Preference is given to students residing in the urban core
    • Can be renewed up to three times
  • Chief William R. Hiler, Sr. Memorial Scholarship
    • $250 for 2014/2015
    • Must be pursuing an associate’s degree in criminal justice
    • Must be currently employed in law enforcement
    • Must be enrolled at least part-time (6 credit hrs) student for Fall 2014 and Spring 2015
    • Must have a cumulative college and/or high school GPA of 2.5 or higher
    • Must have completed the 2014/2015 FAFSA
    • Must have completed admission process at GCTC by 05/01/14 if new GCTC student
    • Must reapply to be considered for 2nd year renewal
  • Commonwealth Scholarship
    • Tuition cost for Fall 2014 and Spring 2015 (up to 12 semester credit hours)
    • Must be a Kentucky resident
    • Must graduate in top 25% of 2012 or 2013 high school graduating class
    • Must be a student with potential for academic success
    • Must be enrolled at least part-time (6 credit hrs) student for Fall 2014 and Spring 2015
    • Must have completed the 2014/2015 FAFSA with GCTC
    • Must have completed admission process at GCTC by 05/01/14 if new GCTC student
    • Must reapply to be reviewed for second year renewal
  • Chellgren Family Endowed Scholarship
    • Enrolled full or part time at Gateway
    • Enrolled in a program leading towards an associate’s degree, certificate or diploma
    • Maintain a 2.5 GPA score
    • Preference given to Kentucky residents
  • Founders Scholarship:
    • Partial tuition for Fall 2014 and Spring 2015
    • Must be a Kentucky resident
    • Must be a student with potential for academic success
    • Must have a high school/college cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
    • Must be enrolled at least part-time (6 credit hrs) for Fall 2014 and Spring 2015
    • Must have completed the 2014/2015 FAFSA
    • Must have completed admission process at GCTC by 5/01/14 if new GCTC student
    • Must reapply to be reviewed for second year renewal
  • GAP Funding Memorial Scholarship:
    • Enrolled at Gateway
    • Maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA
    • Reside in Northern Kentucky
    • Must have completed admission process at GCTC by 5/01/2014 if new GCTC student 
    • Hispanic students are encouraged to apply
    • Funds can be used towards tuition, books and fees
  • Gateway Foundation R.C. Durr Scholarship:
    • Partial or full tuition for Fall 2014 and Spring 2015
    • Must be full-time or part-time student
    • Must be enrolled in business or a technical occupation
    • Must maintain a 2.5 cumulative GPA or higher
    • Must have completed the 2014/2015 FAFSA
    • Must have completed admission process at GCTC by 5/01/14 if new GCTC student
    • Must demonstrate unmet financial need
    • Must reapply to be reviewed for second year renewal
  • Jeff and Ruth Eger Scholarship:
    • Enrolled full or part time at Gateway
    • Have unmet financial need
    • Must have completed the 2013/2014 FAFSA
    • Must have completed admission process at GCTC by 5/01/2013 if new GCTC student
    • Demonstrated academic ability
    • Maintain a GPA average of 2.5 or higher
    • Preference given to students who are employed by Northern Kentucky Sanitation District No. 1 or whose parent(s) are employed by Northern Kentucky Sanitation District No. 1
    • Reside in Kentucky
  • JT Smith Scholarship:
    • Partial tuition for Fall 2014 and Spring 2015
    • Must be a Kentucky resident
    • Must be an African-American student
    • Must be a student with potential for academic success
    • Must have a high school/college cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher
    • Must be enrolled as a part-time (6 credit hrs) student for Fall 2014 and Spring 2015
    • Must have completed the 2014/2015 FAFSA
    • Must have completed admission process at GCTC by 05/01/14 if new GCTC student
    • Must demonstrate unmet financial need
    • Must reapply to be reviewed for second year renewal
  • KCTCS Workforce Development/Transfer Scholarship:
    • Amount of scholarship is variable
    • Must be a student with potential for academic success
    • Must be a first or second year student pursuing an associate degree
    • Must be enrolled in a program in the STEM disciplines (science, technology, engineering or math), health professions, career pathway programs, teacher shortage area, or applied science. 
    • Must plan to transfer to an accredited public or private four-year Kentucky institution
    • Must have completed the 2014/2015 FAFSA
    • Must have completed admission process at GCTC by 5/01/14 if new GCTC student
    • Must reapply to be reviewed for second year renewal
  • Kentucky Colonels Better Life Scholarship:
    • $2500 for 2014/2015 tuition
    • Must be a Kentucky resident
    • Must be a single working parent with one or more children under age 12
    • Must be pursuing an associate degree
    • Must be a student with potential for academic success
    • Must be enrolled as a full-time (12 credit hrs) student for Fall 2014 and Spring 2015
    • Must have completed the 2014/2015 FAFSA
    • Must have completed admission process at GCTC by 5/01/14 if new GCTC student
    • Must reapply to be reviewed for second year renewal
    • Must demonstrate unmet financial need
    • Must complete Kentucky Colonels Better Life Scholarship form
  • Mazak Scholarship in Manufacturing Technology:
    • $2000 for 2014/2015 tuition
    • Must be pursuing a manufacturing-related area of study
    • Must be a student with potential for academic success
    • Must have a high school/college cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
    • Must be enrolled as a full-time (12 credit hrs) student for Fall 2014 and Spring 2015
    • Must have completed the 2014/2015 FAFSA
    • Must have completed admission process at GCTC by 5/01/14 if new GCTC student
    • Must demonstrate unmet financial need
    • Must reapply to be reviewed for second year renewal
  • Mildred Nary Family Scholarship:
    • $250 for 2014/2015 tuition 
    • Must be a Kentucky resident
    • Must be a student with potential for academic success
    • Must have a high school/college cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
    • Must be enrolled as a full-time (12 credit hrs) student for Fall 2014 and Spring 2015
    • Must have completed the 2014/2015 FAFSA
    • Must have completed admission process at GCTC by 5/01/14 if new GCTC student
    • Must demonstrate unmet financial need

  • NAACP/Mazak Manufacturing Technology Scholarship:
    • Up to full tuition for Fall 2014 and Spring 2015
    • Must be an African-American student
    • Must be pursuing either Machine Tool, Industrial Maintenance, Electricity, Electronics or Drafting
    • Must be a student with potential for academic success
    • Must have a high school/college cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
    • Must be enrolled as a full-time (12 credit hrs) student for Fall 2014 and Spring 2015
    • Must have completed the 2014/2015 FAFSA
    • Must have completed admission process at GCTC by 5/01/14 if new GCTC student
    • Must reapply to be reviewed for second year renewal
  • N.O. Kimbler Scholarship:
    • $1100 for 2014/2015 tuition
    • Must be pursuing credential in Early Childhood Education or Education
    • Must be a student with potential for academic success
    • Must have a high school/college cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
    • Must be enrolled as a full-time (12 credit hrs) student for Fall 2014 and Spring 2015
    • Must have completed the 2014/2015 FAFSA
    • Must have completed admission process at GCTC by 5/01/14 if new GCTC student
    • Must reapply to be reviewed for second year renewal
  • Northern Kentucky Scholars Endowed Scholarship:
    • Partial tuition and books for Fall 2014 and Spring 2015
    • Must have completed the 2014/2015 FAFSA
    • Must maintain a grade point average of 2.5 or higher
    • Must be in a field of study leading to the transfer to a four-year institution
    • Preference will be given to students who reside in Northern Kentucky
  • Park National Bank Scholarship:
    • $1000 for the academic year
    • Be enrolled full time at Gateway or accepted for admission to Gateway from High School
    • Must have completed the 2014 – 2015 FAFSA Application
    • Must have demonstrated unmet need
    • Maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA in coursework at Gateway to remain eligible for the scholarship
    • Preference will be given to those from the Kentucky river cities area of Bellevue, Covington, Ludlow and Newport, with additional preference given to Covington residents
  • President’s Scholarship:
    • Partial tuition for Fall 2014 and Spring 2015
    • Must be a Kentucky resident
    • Must be a student with potential for academic success
    • Must have a high school/college cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher
    • Must be enrolled at least part-time (6 credit hrs) student for Fall 2014 and Spring 2015
    • Must have completed the 2014/2015 FAFSA
    • Must have completed admission process at GCTC by 5/01/14 if new GCTC student
    • Must reapply to be reviewed for second year renewal
  • Ralph G. Anderson Scholarship in Drafting, Design, and Engineering Technology:
    • $5000 for 2014/2015 tuition
    • Must reside in northern Kentucky or Hamilton, Clermont, or Dearborn Counties
    • Must be a full time student in the Fall 2014 and Spring 2015 semesters
    • Must be a student with the potential for academic success
    • Must be pursuing a course of study in Drafting, Computer Aided Design or Engineering Technology
    • Must have a 2.5 or higher GPA previous high school or college work (then maintain a 3.0 GPA after receiving this award)
    • Must have completed the 2014/2015 FAFSA with GCTC school code listed by 3/15/14
    • Must have completed admission process at GCTC by 3/15/14 if new GCTC student
    • Must demonstrate unmet financial need
    • Must reapply to be reviewed for second year renewal
  • Robert T. Green Endowed Scholarship:
    • Partial tuition and fees for Fall 2014 and Spring 2015
    • Must be enrolled in programs that contribute to workforce development in high need areas – programs that teach skills required by primary companies such as manufacturing and distribution
    • Must have a GPA of 2.5 or Higher
    • Must be a resident of Boone, Kenton or Campbell Counties in NKY
    • Must have unmet need and good character
    • Preference given to Military Veterans
  • Sathe Family Endowed Scholarship:
    • Full or partial tuition for Fall 2014 and Spring 2015
    • Must be full-time or part-time student
    • Must be a resident of an urban area of Northern Kentucky or Cincinnati
    • Must demonstrate good character
    • Must have completed the 2014/2015 FAFSA with GCTC school code listed by 03/15/14
    • Must have completed admission process at GCTC by 5/01/14
    • Must maintain a 2.5 cumulative GPA or higher
    • Must be enrolled in a program that contributes to workforce development in high need areas or intend to transfer to a baccalaureate program
    • Must demonstrate unmet financial need
    • Must reapply to be reviewed for second year renewal
  • Sathe Family Foundation Scholarship:
    • $2500 for 2014/2015 tuition
    • Partial tuition for Fall 2014 and Spring 2015
    • Must be a student with potential for academic success
    • Must have a high school/college cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher
    • Must be enrolled as a full-time (12 credit hrs) student for Fall 2014 and Spring 2015
    • Must have completed the 2014/2015 FAFSA
    • Must have completed admission process at GCTC by 5/01/14 if new GCTC student
    • Preference will be given to those from underserved areas of the region, especially African American students and those who have first attended programs in downtown Covington.
    • Must demonstrate unmet financial need
    • Must reapply to be reviewed for second year renewal
  • Scott Weingartner Endowed Nursing Scholarship:
    • Partial tuition for Fall 2014 and Spring 2015
    • Must be accepted via selective admissions process into the AAS nursing program
    • Must be a student with potential for academic success
    • Must have a high school/college cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher
    • Must be enrolled as a full or part-time (6 credit hrs) student for Fall 2014 and Spring 2015
    • Must have completed the 2014/2015 FAFSA
    • Must have completed admission process at GCTC by 3/15/14 if new GCTC student
    • Must reapply to be reviewed for 2nd year renewal-GPA requirements for renewal
    • Preference is given to Dixie Heights High School graduates, then any other Northern Kentucky high school graduates
    • Must demonstrate unmet financial need
    • Must reapply to be reviewed for second year renewal
  • Thelma Lee Flairty Bray Scholarship:
    • $4000 for tuition for Fall 2014 and Spring 2015
    • Must be a recent graduate of Campbell County High School
    • Enrolled full time at Gateway
    • Must have completed the 2014/2015 FAFSA
    • Must demonstrate unmet financial need
    • Must reside in Northern Kentucky
    • Must enter College with at least a 2.5 GPA score
    • Scholarship can be renewed a second year with a GPA higher than 2.5 
  • Urban Learning Center Scholarship:
    • Full or partial tuition for the Fall 2014 and Spring 2015 semesters
    • Must be enrolled as a full-time or part- time student for Fall 2014 and Spring 2015
    • Must have completed the 2014/2015 FAFSA
    • Must have completed admission process at GCTC by 5/01/14 if new GCTC student
    • Must maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA
    • Preference will be given to residents of the following northern Kentucky urban cities:
      Covington, Newport, Bellevue, Dayton and Ludlow
    • Must demonstrate unmet financial need
    • Must reapply to be reviewed for 2nd year renewal
  • Yearlings Annual Scholarship: 
    • $2500 for Fall 2014 and Spring 2015
    • Must be a woman of any age enrolled full or part time for the Fall 2014 and Spring 2015 semesters
    • Must maintain a 2.5 GPA
    • Must reapply to be reviewed for 2nd year renewal
    • Preference will be given to residents of Boone, Campbell or Kenton Counties of northern Kentucky
  • Wagstaff Scholarship:
    • Enrolled full time at Gateway
    • Have unmet financial need
    • Maintain a 2.5 GPA score
    • Must have completed the 2014/2015 FAFSA
    • Must have completed admission process at GCTC by 5/01/14 if new GCTC student
