GED Test

Congratulations! You are taking one of the most important steps of your life – earning your GED (General Equivalency Diploma) credential! Millions of people like you have taken GED Tests to get a better job, continue their education, or to feel better about themselves. The GED tests measure your knowledge and academic skills against those of today's traditional high school graduates.

Perhaps you aren’t ready to take a GED test, but you are ready to prepare. Kentucky Adult Education can help you get started.


To take the GED Exam in Kentucky, you must:

  • have a Kentucky address 
  • pass the Official GED Practice Test through an approved Kentucky Adult Education center
  • be 19 years of age or be withdrawn from school at least 90 days if you are under 19 years of age. If you cannot wait 90 days, you may request a waiver from your school superintendent.

Locations and Test Dates

Testing takes place at Urban Center , Boone Campus or at our Edgewood Campus.

GED Costs
First group tests are $60 each. 
Individual sub-tests are $30 per test.
All first-time and repeat test-takers must present non-expired, state or federal photo identification on the day of the test. No test-taker will be admitted to the testing room without photo identification.
