She’s benefiting from Gateway’s affordable tuition while she prepares to transfer to a four-year university in pursuit of a bachelor’s degree.
After I finished high school, I wasn’t sure what the next step would be. I knew I’d be paying for college out of pocket, so I needed a school that would be affordable and convenient. Gateway was more inexpensive than any other college I considered, and with multiple campuses, it was easy to schedule classes around work and other commitments.
It was a little difficult getting into the swing of college, and I was pretty nervous. I was surprised to learn just how much the Gateway instructors love what they’re doing—it makes learning so much easier and definitely more fun. They aren’t concerned with just teaching the curriculum, they do a brilliant job of molding their lessons to fit the needs of the students.
I live by this motto, “Those who restrain desire have desire that is weak enough to be restrained.” I came across this in a book I read, and to me it means that if you really love something, you’ll completely put your heart into it. That drive has helped me succeed in making the Dean’s List every semester since I’ve been at Gateway, which is something I’m very proud of.
After I leave Gateway, I want to transfer to a university and obtain my Bachelor’s in Advertising—maybe even my Master’s someday. After I complete two years here, I’ll be halfway finished with my degree, and I didn’t have to pay the price for a large university. Gateway makes it so easy to be able to obtain a transfer degree that will prepare you for a larger college.
