Gateway Community and Technical College and Covington’s Ninth Street Baptist Church will co-sponsor Gateway’s second annual Super Sunday college recruiting fair Feb. 12 at 2 p.m. at the college’s Urban Center in downtown Covington.

GCTC is sponsoring its sixth annual short fiction, poetry, and creative non-fiction essays (narrative, descriptive, personal, etc.) competition. We are looking for well-crafted and skillfully revised pieces from GCTC writers to share with our college community.

Beginning Monday February 6, Gateway Community & Technical College will present “Black Art—Ancestral Legacy: The African Impulse in African American Art,” a traveling display based on the major exhibition organized by the Dallas Museum of Art and produced by Humanities Texas, the state affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities.

The Board of Directors of Gateway Community and Technical College will conduct its regular bi-monthly meeting at 5:30 p.m. January 26, 2012, at the college’s Boone Campus, Center for Advanced Manufacturing, in Room B201B. The Boone Campus is located at 500 Technology Way, Florence.

The board of directors of the Transit Authority of Northern Kentucky (TANK) voted Jan. 11 to approve a resolution supporting the development of the proposed Gateway Community and Technical College Urban Campus in downtown Covington.

Gateway Community and Technical will launch a Paramedic Technology certificate program in the fall of 2012 and is currently accepting applications. Students may enroll in preparatory classes in terms that begin Jan. 30 and March 15.

Gateway Community and Technical College will offer a domestic violence workshop, “Becoming A Survivor,” Jan. 25 from 3 to 4 p.m. in Room A105 at the college’s Covington Campus, 1025 Amsterdam Road. Ashley Novogroski from the Women’s Crisis Center is the featured speaker.
