Gateway Community and Technical College has 12-week and eight-week sessions that begin in September and October, respectively, so it isn’t too late to start college this fall.
“Gateway developed the later start dates several years ago to appeal to people who may decide to start college at the last minute,” said Andre Washington, Gateway dean of enrollment services. “Being a ‘just-in-time’ decider is not unusual among community college students. People who are just now deciding to enroll in college can choose between our 12-week semester that starts Sept. 15 or an 8-week session that begins Oct. 16.”
Washington adds that it’s best not to wait any longer to sign up. “Our admissions process is designed to get people off to the right start regardless of when they enroll,” he said. “The sooner they begin the process, the more likely they are to get a successful start, particularly in terms of class availability.”
Enrolling begins with a single step, which can be a phone call to 859-441-4500, a visit to www.gateway.kctcs.edu/Admissions or stopping by the Admissions office at any Gateway campus. “All people need to do is contact us, and we will take them through the process,” Washington said.
Admissions offices are located at the Center for Advanced Manufacturing at the Boone Campus, 500 Technology Way, Florence; the Student Services Center at the Edgewood Campus, 790 Thomas More Parkway; and the Two Rivers Building at the Urban Metro Campus, 525 Scott Boulevard, Covington.
